I took this picture over summer break and just recently drew it.
maybe I should draw the rest of my grandma's 6 cats.
It took me about 5 days to draw.

size - 10 x 15
Done with Oil Pastels and Prismacolor Pencils.

how did you use the oil pastels in this picture? Did you go over the colored pencil with them to make the fur?Excellent work by the way! :)

Yeah, I think I used a pencil to create the fur.
Might've also used my fingernail.

God I bet your portfolio took you forever! Was this AP Drawing or 2D?

I was in 2D I believe in '05.

Nah, didn't take all that long. I always put my art in front of my other subjects.

I took AP art in 06.

Well yeah of course! But I mean were you using Prismacolor pencils for the majority of your protfolio?! And what sizes are most of your pieces? All of the time you put into your work is totally worth it though your style is incredible. I absolutely love the brightness of your artwork! To die for!

Good Lord.
That's so ridiculously intense.
I had a friend who used to do really large, detailed pieces in pencil too--
That is totally not my thing....
I suck with realism (which is why I picked up on photography--it's my "realism" fix)...

I'm definitely a sloppy painter.

Props to you man your stuff is absolutely beautiful!!!

I really like the primary color choice in the background. Lovely drawing as usual.

Thats really pretty, I love the perspective, and great job with the fur. I think the nose/mouth is slightly slanted from the head tho. I like how you used a cartoony background of the cabinets in contrast to the real looking cat.

Thanks for the critique. I see the cabinet is slanted now.

Excellent details on the cat, furs and eyes. Really amazing and expressive capture. Have a feeling that the bottom of the kitchen cabinet above his head could be slanted more horizontally (?) because it seems slightly off... or maybe it's just me.
