Portrait VIII - Mizu by SlimyYetSatisfying Portrait VIII - Mizu by SlimyYetSatisfying
:iconchibimizuthing:,I really couldn't submit this one before the 30th. Seeing as how this picture was one of your birthday presents after all.

Done with prismacolor pencils.
Even though it's no longer in my possession. I'm assuming it was 16x24.

I'm pretty sure if you have 'Star Ocean 3' then you can tell I copied the feathers from the back of the game case.

simply beautiful. I would love to have a talented friend to draw me something like that for my b-day! But alas I'm the artist among my friends. Lovely shading, I adore the hair and the feathers :) :+fav:

I have to comment on the socks...they're splendid! *huggles the socks* I wish I could critique this, but I'm too distracted by the beauty.

I'm glad you like my socks. If I had known they would've been in the picture, I would've worn striped ones instead. XD

Sorry, just figured I throw that in there. :giggle:

Oh, how did I miss this piece by you? It looks awesome buddy. Motivation from your subject.
Too bad she had to take the piece down and leave her walls bare....
Just wondering how many white prismacolor pencils you grind into dust from making the background.... I love how you created the folds and wrinkles in the cloth though.

Yes, she sure does motivate and inspire me. I don't mind if they're not on her walls as of right now, as long as she has them and keeps them safe I'm happy.....and I used about 2 white pencils.

I don't think prismacolors would grind into dusk, they're too oily.....wait? You're NOT being literal are you? :XD:

Of course it's safe. I hardly would guess she's be the kind of person to thrash an art piece, being an artist herself. Espcially a piece from a dear friend. Art is precious, cherished always. She knows this. I still have the piece you gave me safely tucked away in my profile. :)

And yes, prismacolors are indeed waxy, but that doesn't deny them the fact that they can be grind into a fine dust. It's possible, because I'm talking from experience~ So....yeah *cough* :paranoid:

My pencils have never grinded to dust. I guess it's just my OBVIOUS talent and superiority at work. :XD:

And you're OBVIOUSLY being arrogant and obnoxious about you talent, again, but I'm gonna let it slide... Everyone has different style and techniques they use. I just gotta work a color pencil a little harder than you to produce the same results. And once I've reduce the pencil to ashes, a create a new miniature pencil from it, only to have it snapped in half within my stubby fingers seconds later~ ^^;

Amazing detail on all the lights and shadows. The sheets, socks, jeans, are so very real. Fantastic coloring. The only thing I can see with this, is that the face seems to be a tiny bit softer/less in depth than the rest, in which it's not as "real" as say, the sheets. But that's mostly comparative I'd say; were they not next to each other it wouldn't be noticeable.

:)
